It’s been a spectacularly colourful late summer and autumn here in the Cairngorms National Park! The many species of heather and Rosebay Willowherb have covered our hills, moorlands and verges with the most beautiful purple.
Today is the Autumn Equinox – summer is officially over!
It’s a great time of year for wildlife sightings here in the Cairngorms National Park!
We have a feeder for Red Squirrels, so they frequently visit .
Birds and mammals are making the most of the last fruits before winter sets in.
As well as our local residents, many species of bird come to the Cairngorms NP from further north.
Most of all, it’s a time of stunning colour! Here are some lovely images from previous years and we’re hoping to see more like this during the next few weeks!
